Meeting with the Confederations of Trade Unions and SMEs

The 2022/23 pre-budget consultation started yesterday 24th March 2022. The Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Dr Renganaden Padayachy, mentioned that the 2022/23 budget will be to consolidate the economic recovery and accelerate the transition of Mauritius into a sustainable and inclusive economy while maintaining fiscal stability. With the resurgence of the Omicron variant and the Russia-Ukraine conflict impacting the economic conjuncture, the Budget will also aim at building more resilience into the economy. The Minister met with the Confederations of Trade Unions and SMEs whereby different proposals were put forward.
